Currently, many companies are investing in training their employees to use standard AI workplace tools such as Gemini, ChatGPT, and NotebookNLM.
The outcomes seem to be rather mixed. Starting with prompting abilities of varying quality when using the various AI information and analysis tools, through the quicker generation of more (useless and spamming) slide decks, to the creation of meeting minutes (that often no one reads).
Using a commonplace, a tool is not a solution, also an AI tool is not a solution, also an army of AI tools is not a solution … without really knowing what you want to achieve.
So, do you want to build AI tool usage skills for old processes? Or do you prefer innovating entire operational processes and want employees to use as few of their valuable resources as possible for operational management?
Why not shift gears, skip training people on approaches that will soon be obsolete, … and invest in fully AI-managed end-to-end workflows and processes instead? Investing in the AI solutions of the future, not those of the past. We are in 2026 now, not in 2023 anymore. Which actually reflects the pace of AI technological progress.
Do you really believe that the standard AI tools, which often require sophisticated prompting, are the end of development? Seriously?
No, in the near future, fully AI-managed workflows, if not agentic AI networks, will take control of processes and activities that do not require human involvement, allowing employees to finally focus on content. Also, no prompting anymore. Exceptions – e.g., for creatives – might prove the rule. However, we are talking about establishing AI as an enabling co-worker rather than a tool. A co-worker who partially takes control.
This can also give employees free headspace to think about where else AI can be used effectively to support the business and create real impact. And where AI can strengthen strategic priorities and competitive positioning. Instead of wasting time on prompting for individual tools.
As we enter 2026, it might be an ideal time to shift gears. To stop investing in approaches of the past and put yourself at the forefront of development.
P.S.: You also would like to know “how”? Then let’s speak.
