Music was my first love … and I really enjoy playing it. As a young man I had been a quite active trumpet player. For the last ~20 years I switched to singing in a choir.
I particularly enjoy doing music together with others, forming one orchestrated musical body, listening to each other, contributing to a unified sound, and – certainly – performing on stage. Plus, it is pure fun.
On November 8th/9th 2026, the Müllheim Chamber Choir (I am singing in) is going to perform a dazzling array of musical pieces spanning ages and musical styles. The program centers on lively, dance-inspired Advent music from Latin America and Europe. In addition to a chamber orchestra featuring strings and winds, the Müllheim Chamber Choir has invited two distinguished guest soloists. Beatriz Picas (vocals & cello) and Murat Coşkun (percussion) are touring Europe with their duo program. Murat Coşkun is the artistic director of the Tamburi Mundi Festival in Freiburg and has toured with Giora Feidman, among others. Two world premieres by choir director Albrecht Haaf round out the program.
I am sharing some YouTube clips of the Müllheim Chamber Choir below. Curious if you can spot me. And looking forward seeing you at one of our next concerts.
